Worship Notes for Lent |
|
In the forty-day season of Lent, there are some worship
changes you will see and hear. First, remember to respond,
"And with thy Spirit" and the other Rite I responses. We have
switched to Rite I, for its more penitential prayers and
formal language. On Sundays, the Psalm and much of the service
music is said, not sung, to be a little more solemn and
simple. As usual, we forgo saying "All--ia" until the Easter
Vigil. The color changes from green to purple, the color
solemn preparation. The crosses are veiled symbolizing the
shadows of betrayal, trial, suffering, and death. The usual
dismissal (May the Blessing of God.) have changed to a solemn
prayer.

Lenten Devotionals
and Meditations Booklet |
|
It
is hoped that this booklet will provide a personalized
reflection of the scripture readings found in the Daily Office
Lectionary and will enrich your spiritual journey during this
holy season. By using this devotional booklet, we parishioners
are united with each other and with the entire body of the
Anglican Communion as we all read, study, pray and meditate on
the same Bible passages each day.

Easter and
Holy Week Schedule |
|
Plan now to
join us for Holy Week services. The week from Palm Sunday to
Easter is called Holy Week, during which we remember the week
leading to Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection. The main
thing to remember is that our life in Christ is not just about
Easter. His triumphal entry into Jerusalem, the Last Supper,
His arrest and crucifixion are significant moments to remember
and celebrate with prayer and devotion. Please plan in
advance to join us during these holy times.
