The Rev. Cynthia Park,
Assistant Rector
A
native of Dallas, Texas, the Rev. Cynthia Park comes to us most recently
from the Diocese of Virginia, where she enjoyed a very active parish
ministry while completing her PhD studies in Hebrew and Aramaic at The
Catholic University of America, following seminary at The Virginia
Theological Seminary in Alexandria, Virginia. Cynthia came to the
Episcopal Church in 1980 and since then has been active in Cursillo, EFM,
Jubilee Ministries, counseling, and numerous outreach ministries.
Originally ordained to the
Diaconate in 2004 in the Diocese of Alabama, Cynthia’s ministry for the
past eight years has focused on teaching and counseling. Her work as
a licensed Family and Marriage Counselor along with her expertise in the
Semitic languages that shaped the Hebrew Bible combine in her primary
ministry of helping people find their story in the heart of the story of
God’s love for the world.
She and her husband Jack have
four grown children and six grandchildren. They are deeply committed as a
couple to prayer, study and worship and look forward to contributing to
the life of their new parish family at St. Aidan’s.
