Our youngest class—The Saints—uses
the well-known and very popular Godly Play curriculum. This wonderful
program for ages three through kindergarten is facilitated by three
Our objective for this age group is to develop a base of key theological
themes, biblical stories, and association with Episcopal liturgy,
including seasons of the year and corporate and individual prayer, as well
as appropriate personal decorum for corporate worship.
The Holy Land Class – (1st – 3d grade) uses the Shell Curriculum,
an Episcopal Children’s Curriculum published by the Episcopal Church
The Cathedral Class – (4th and 5th grade) uses the Chalice
Curriculum, an Episcopal Children’s Curriculum published by the Episcopal
Church Publishing Company.
Our objectives for Holy Land and Cathedral Class include:
- Biblical Literacy (Old Testament/Hebrew
Scriptures in through Advent and
New Testament from Christmas
- Familiarity with Anglican/Episcopal Liturgy and Worship (prayers,
public reading of Holy Scripture,
and Holy Communion)
- A clear sense of God’s plan of salvation for the world through our
- Encouragement and Support to develop a personal relationship with God
through prayer, work, and play
Parents are strongly encouraged to bring
children regularly to Sunday School and help children avoid scheduling
activities outside of church that prevent or make difficult regular
participation in Sunday School activities.
Regular news about Sunday School will be available on the website, and
through emails, and parents are always invited to visit in classes.
All teachers and workers involved with our children and youth regularly
complete programs in Safeguarding God’s Children.
