ALPHARETTA, GA.  A preacher, a priest and a rabbi go into a coffee shop to discuss a novel, and dozens of people show up to talk about issues of life and faith.  That’s the vision of a new group forming in North Fulton County, appropriately named, “A Preacher, A Priest and A Rabbi.”  The preacher is the Reverend Joe Clifford, pastor of Alpharetta Presbyterian Church.  The priest is the Reverend Rob Wood, rector of St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church.  Rabbi Ron Herstik of Congregation Dor Tamid, a Reform synagogue in North Metro Atlanta, completes the trio of moderators.

“In a world where religion can be a polarizing force, the group hopes to offer a place for people of all faiths or no faith at all, to engage in conversation,” said Rabbi Herstik. “Our hope is to provide opportunities for the group to learn as we share with each other our convictions about life and faith through the lens of a book, a movie or a poem,” added Rev. Clifford. “This will not be a lecture, but rather a conversation about a novel or a movie, facilitated by a preacher, a priest and a rabbi- no joke.” said Father Wood.
