Rector’s Forum: Serious Answers to Hard Questions

Have you wondered about the relationship between religion and science, the existence of evil, other religions, and extra-biblical books?  These obstacle-to-faith issues are worth discussing, and we’ll do just that with the help of ten noted theologians for the next ten weeks.  Join us Sundays at 9:30 in Burtenshaw Hall.

An Invitation to Join Foyer Groups for the February-June cycle

Whether you are a visitor, new member or longtime parishioner, you are welcome to join Foyers! Foyers groups are small gatherings of about eight people (couples and singles) who meet informally once a month for a simple meal and fellowship (usually at each other’s homes).  Families may also sign up for “Family Foyers” to include their children in their Foyer Group. Once each household has hosted, it is time to sign-up for the next cycle of Foyers. The sign-up sheet is in the Narthex through January 27. Or you can contact Betsy Laundon via the St. Aidan’s website or call her, 404-806-0798.  Foyer Groups will be announced the week of Jan. 28.

Lenten Soup Suppers and Program: Lent and God’s New Creation

Beginning Wednesday evening, February 13th and continuing through March 12th Fr. Keith will offer a Lenten program that will explore new ways to experience Lent. Weekly topics will include:

  • Legalism and the New Creation—an Overview of Galatians

  • The Church’s Developing Understanding of Repentance and Lent

  • Repentance: Understanding Ourselves in God’s Presence

  • How to Live Together as a Community of Repentance

  • Practices to Explore/Continue Beyond Lent

A simple soup supper begins the evening at 6:00, (see the next announcement for details) with the program from 6:45 to 7:45. There will also be childcare for younger children and a supervised, seasonally appropriate video for older children.
