John Sabine
John
Sabine has accepted a position at Christ Our Hope Lutheran Church in
Riverdale, Georgia. St. Aidan's has been blessed to have John as
Organist and Choirmaster since 2004.
We will have the
opportunity to thank John for his ministry with us in two ways. First,
on Sunday, January 31, after the 11 am service, we will honor
John as part of our St. Aidan's celebration in Burtenshaw Hall.
Second, as is our custom, we will have a Love Offering for John -
special gifts of cash or checks to show our appreciation for his work
among us. Special collection boxes for this offering will be in
the narthex and in the lobby outside Burtenshaw Hall.

Disaster
Relief for Haiti - The Challenge to Help
Thanks to everyone for
their generous contributions to earthquake relief in Haiti. We raised
$2225 for Episcopal Relief and Development (ERD) last Sunday, with
several families embracing the Challenge to Help by donating $100 or
more. Aid is now flowing into Haiti, but the recovery and
rebuilding process will be long and difficult. If you have not yet
donated, or would like to make an additional contribution, you can
donate to ERD online at
https://www.er-d.org/donate-select.php or pick up an ERD envelope in
the narthex. You can also donate through St. Aidan's with a check
marked "Haiti" placed in the collection plate. Other agencies that
are helping are the Red Cross (www.redcross.org)
or Doctors Without Borders (http://doctorswithoutborders.org/).

FOYER Groups Return
with a TWIST in 2010!
To make scheduling Foyer
get-togethers easier, there will be one sign-up period in 2010 - Jan.
24 to Feb. 7 - with the Foyer’s 2010 cycle from March through
October. All adults are welcome to join Foyers - visitors, new
members and longtime parishioners. Foyer groups are small
gatherings of about eight people (couples and singles) who meet
informally for a pot luck meal and fellowship (usually at each other’s
homes). The hosts normally provide the entree with the other parts
of the meal brought by the members. Once each household has hosted over
the eight month period, the cycle will be complete. The sign-up sheet is
in the Narthex or you can sign-up on St. Aidan’s website through Feb.
7. Groups will be formed and notified in mid-February by Clark Miller,
Chair.

salvation. Each week, a new character, so join us for the entire
series, or for one week at a time." The Rev. Rebekah Hatch will lead

St. Aidan’s
Green
Team

Green Team Tip
Unless you're switching to
a more energy-efficient model, it's usually better to repair a broken
appliance than to replace it. But there's a lot you can do to
prevent breakdowns in the first place. Keep your water heater
sediment-free by flushing it out at least once a year. If it's
noisy, it’s probably because muck has accumulated in the tank, which
reduces its ability to heat water efficiently and can clog the drain.
The following link has the proper procedure for flushing out your tank
and be careful – the water will be very hot:
http://repair2000.com/hotwtr.html. This simple step will help
prevent costly repairs and replacements.
Recycling bins are
here!
Recycling bins are located in the kitchen, by the drink machine and
downstairs in the classroom areas for recycling paper, aluminum cans,
plastic bottles, and other recyclable materials. For information,
contact Earl Bozeman at 404-486-9405 or
sonnyb49@comcast.net.
How are you helping to
save the planet?
The
Green
Team would like to know what you are doing in your home and community to
help save our planet. Please send photos of your recycling
efforts, compost bins, rain barrels, etc. to Joyce Tripp Miller, 1205
Tuscany Ct, Alpharetta, GA 30004 or
jtmiller120@gmail.com. Please identify people who are in your
photos.
Join the
Green
team!
The St. Aidan's Green Team
meets the second Sunday of each month after the 11 am service;
all are welcome to participate. If you are
interested in helping St. Aidan’s with its environmental stewardship
(recycling and the like) please contact Father Rob at

2010 Pilgrimages
Since the 4th century…
Man has sought God on the worn paths and narrow roads that lead to
Europe’s holy sites.
That journey continues today… Join us.
Christian
Pilgrims primary mission is to increase the number of people who join
the age old practice and discipline of pilgrimage. We encourage, invite
and lead people in this process. Each year we lead small groups on two
