Lenten Soup Suppers and Program: Lent and God’s New Creation

Beginning Wednesday evening, February 13th and continuing through March 12th Fr. Keith will offer a Lenten program that will explore new ways to experience Lent. Instead of focusing on traditional Lenten disciplines such as giving up things that we like (chocolate, coffee, etc.), Keith will look at how the church has understood Lent and repentance as part of our participation with God’s new creation in Jesus Christ. Weekly topics will include:

- Legalism and the New Creation—an Overview of Galatians

- The Church’s Developing Understanding of Repentance and

   Lent
- Repentance: Understanding Ourselves in God’s Presence
- How to Live Together as a Community of Repentance
- Practices to Explore/Continue Beyond Lent

A simple soup supper begins the evening at 6:00, (see the next announcement for details) with the program from 6:45 to 7:45. There will also be childcare for younger children and a supervised, seasonally appropriate video for older children

NFCC Food Pantry Needs Dry Beans!!

Thanks to the overwhelming response to pleas for food the fall, the Food Pantry at North Fulton Community Charities is well stocked. The one thing lacking is dry beans. So, to help the situation, St. Aidan's will begin a dry bean drive for the next few months. This is easy! Just purchase any size bag of dry beans - preferably pintos - and drop them in the collection box in the narthex. They can use any size bag - the larger bags are divided into quart size bags by volunteers at the pantry. Thanks so much!
