FOYER Groups Return with a TWIST in 2010!

To make scheduling Foyer get-togethers easier, there will be one sign-up period in 2010 - Jan. 24 to Feb. 7 - with the Foyer’s 2010 cycle from March through October.  All adults are welcome to join Foyers - visitors, new members and longtime parishioners.  Foyer groups are small gatherings of about eight people (couples and singles) who meet informally for a pot luck meal and fellowship (usually at each other’s homes).  The hosts normally provide the entree with the other parts of the meal brought by the members. Once each household has hosted over the eight month period, the cycle will be complete. The sign-up sheet is in the Narthex or you can sign-up on St. Aidan’s website on through Feb. 7.  Sign up link is on the main web page under 'Sign-Ups'.  Groups will be formed and notified in mid-February by Clark Miller, Chair.

St. Aidan’s Green Team

Green Team Tip

When heading out the door in the morning, grab a commuter mug to hand the barista at your favorite coffee shop; you may even get a small discount.  Skip the plastic mug in favor of ceramic or stainless steel.  On days when you’re in a hurry and forget the mug, check your paper cup, sleeve, and lid to see whether they can be recycled or composted.

Recycling bins are here!

Recycling bins are located in the kitchen, by the drink machine and downstairs in the classroom areas for recycling paper, aluminum cans, plastic bottles, and other recyclable materials. For information, contact Earl Bozeman at 404-486-9405 or sonnyb49@comcast.net.

How are you helping to save the planet?

The Green Team would like to know what you are doing in your home and community to help save our planet.  Please send photos of your recycling efforts, compost bins, rain barrels, etc. to Joyce Tripp Miller, 1205 Tuscany Ct, Alpharetta, GA 30004 or jtmiller120@gmail.com.  Please identify people who are in your photos.

Join the Green team!

The St. Aidan's Green Team meets the second Sunday of each month after the 11 am service; all are welcome to participate.  If you are interested in helping St. Aidan’s with its environmental stewardship (recycling and the like) please contact Father Rob at fr.wood@earthlink.net.

Seder Meal

The Seder Supper will be Wednesday, March 31st from 6:30-9:00.  Many scholars believe that Jesus celebrated his Last Supper at a Passover Seder.  Ours will be as authentic as possible and it will be followed by the Holy Eucharist, as has become the tradition in Christian churches.  We hope it will be deeply spiritual, educational, and fun.  Reservations are strictly required because all guests will have assigned seating, and will be asked to prepare a simple dish for their table.  Recipes will be provided.  Children are invited, but a nursery will be available for young children.  Reservations will be accepted until March 7th or until 104 reservations have been received.  Sign up on the web site, in Burtenshaw Hall on Sundays or by calling or emailing. Harmony Kiser: harmony.kiser@comcast.net -770-205-7899 or Lynda Frederickson: lynda.frederickson@cherokee.k12.ga.us – 770-924-3895
