NFCC
needs cereal! Thanks so much for
your recent, generous donations of dry beans. NFCC’s food pantry is now
in need of dry cereal for the clients it serves. Regular size boxes are
the best and any sort of cereal is good—Cheerios, Shredded Wheat, Raisin
Bran, Special K, Smart Start or your favorite brand. This week when you
are at the grocery, pick up a couple extra boxes for the food pantry and
place them in the basket in the Narthex. We’ll deliver them post haste!
(If you include a box or package of dry milk, you’ll get an extra star
in your halo!!)

Theology of Palm Sunday and Holy Week is this Sunday from 9:30—10 AM.

centrality of the Resurrection in our faith.

Holy Week Services
Plan now to join us for
Holy Week services. The week from Palm Sunday to Easter is called Holy
Week, during which we remember the week leading to Jesus’ crucifixion
and resurrection. The main thing to remember is that our life in Christ
is not just about Easter. His triumphal entry into Jerusalem, the Last
Supper, His arrest and crucifixion are significant moments to remember
and celebrate with prayer and devotion. Please plan in advance to join
us during these holy times.
Palm Sunday, March 16
For the 8 am service, the
Liturgy of the Palms will take place in the church at the beginning of
the service. For the later service, the Liturgy of the Palms will begin
at the Cottage at 10:15 a.m.—and then we will process to the church.

Easter Day Services
March 23rd — Special
Times 9 & 11:15 AM
We know that 8 am is early to start for many, especially those with
younger children. There’s also a history of full seating at the 10:30.
Our hope in moving the times up is that some who normally come to
10:30 AM will come at 9 AM instead to balance out attendance. And you
can always come to the Easter Vigil the Saturday night before Easter
at 8 PM and have that “count” as Easter.

week in honor of someone, please sign up in the binder in the narthex.

two donations per Sunday (each for $45). The tabernacle light donation

stating the date and if donation is for altar flowers or the tabernacle

Breakfast
Ministry
Your support and a small
price increase. Our Breakfast Ministry does more than break a few eggs.
Not only do they provide breakfast but they also provide a reason to sit
and have fellowship with those we know and an opportunity to meet those
who we don’t yet know. The success of this ministry is gauged primarily
by the crowd at breakfast and gets its main reward from the comments and
gratitude expressed by you.
Something you may not know
is that the ministry supports many different areas of the church. The
ministry has contributed to the following: Building a new Playground,
Vacation Bible School, Facilities Improvements, Parish Picnic, Attic
Sale, Outreach (Habitat for Humanity), EYC, Coffee Ministry and the
Monthly Birthday Celebration. Why are we telling you this? Well we want
to continue to provide the fellowship as well as to contribute
financially to other ministries in the church. To do this we need to
raise our prices. We will now be charging $4 per adult, $1 per child
with a maximum of $10 per family. We think the value of breakfast, the
fellowship opportunities and the contributions back into the church are
well worth the increase. If you have any questions or concerns please
see Don McPherson or Richard Schuetze. Thank you for your
continued support.

What
is Stewardship?
Stewardship is the recognition that God owns all
that we possess. It is our acknowledgement that God provides the
resources for our life and through us, the resources for the ministries
of our church. We are managers and overseers of what God has provided
in our life. We are accountable for all that has been placed into our
life, not just for a portion of it. Therefore, our giving must be an act
of love and made in gratitude.
Dear Parishioners of St. Aidan’s:
It is hard to believe that we are coming
up on the one-year anniversary of the “Lift High the Cross” Campaigns.
We have so much to be grateful for and so much to be proud of, due to
the efforts of so many. The pledges made to both the “annual giving” and
the “capital” campaigns are a true reflection of our thanks for all God
has given us and for all He has done to bless our lives. Your
contributions and support are greatly appreciated! Visit the bulletin
board in Burtenshaw Hall for details.
Just a couple of reminders….
With the one year anniversary coming up in April, we hope you will
review the status of both your pledges (as detailed in an upcoming
mailing) and stay up-to-date in meeting your commitment each campaign.
We hope the envelopes mailed to you for “Lift High the Cross” and the
“Sunday Offering” are helpful to you. However, if you are not receiving
envelopes and would like to, or if you are receiving them and would
prefer
not
to, please contact Donna (our Church Secretary).
Last year we held both the Annual Giving
and the Capital Campaigns in the spring. While necessary, that
Spring-timing created a challenge, as it does not align with our fiscal
year. Our campaigns this year will move us back to a calendar-year
basis. Therefore, as you complete the Annual Giving pledge in April, we
ask you to prayerfully consider how best to continue your pledge for the
remaining eight months of 2008. Our hope is that you will extend your
current pledge or even increase that amount for the balance of the year
(more information on that next month).
Finally, this coming fall will begin our
big annual Stewardship Campaign for 2009. Our goal is to have 100%
participation. We hope that everyone will join us in this objective and
continue their support of God's mission and ministry at St. Aidan’s.
Again, many thanks to all who help make
the LHTC Campaigns successful.
Faithfully,
Beth Burns and Brad Serff, Stewardship
co-chairs
Jim Myers, Treasurer

Daughters
of the King Preparation Classes
DOK stands for the Order
of the Daughters of the King. Worldwide, it is an order for the lay (or
ordained) woman who, by the reaffirmation of the promises made at
Baptism, pledges herself to a lifelong program of prayer, service, and
evangelism, dedicated to strengthening of the spiritual life of her
parish.
The St. Aidan’s chapter of DOK has 30-plus members and meets one
Saturday per month at St Aidans. All women are welcome to attend the
meetings. A requirement to become a daughter is to attend preparations
classes. These classes run about 8 weeks. We are planning to start
preparation classes this spring.
For more information, please check out
www.dok-national.org or
ask questions of Becky Sullivan or any other Daughter. If you are
interested please contact Becky Sullivan 404-626-3156 or
