First Sunday
Offering
This Sunday's Loose
Plate Offering will be donated to the Children's Restoration Network, an
organization dedicated to addressing the plight of homeless children in
our community. Each year they work with over 120 shelters and group
homes to meet the basics needs of over 3,400 homeless children. They
also go the extra mile to help these children with their school work
through an active mentoring program. They have recently been granted
$10,000 from WSB as seed money towards what they hope will be a $100,000
scholarship fund for children who have spent most of their school years
in homeless shelters.

Graduating
High School Seniors and their families
In our effort to
prepare for Youth Sunday, May 4th, please submit 5 pictures of you to
the church. Please put your name on the back of the pictures and put
them in an envelope in the EYC box in the church office. These pictures
will be returned to you. One must be a recent photo (like your senior
yearbook picture) and one needs to be a baby picture. The other three
are your choice. These must be submitted by April 6th. You do not need
to be an EYC member to participate in Youth Sunday. If you have any
questions, please see Katie or Bethany at 770-364-4233 for details.

NFCC
needs cereal!
Thanks so much for your
recent, generous donations of dry beans. NFCC’s food pantry is now in
need of dry cereal for the clients it serves. Regular size boxes are the
best and any sort of cereal is good—Cheerios, Shredded Wheat, Raisin
Bran, Special K, Smart Start or your favorite brand. This week when you
are at the grocery, pick up a couple extra boxes for the food pantry and
place them in the basket in the Narthex. We’ll deliver them post haste!
(If you include a box or package of dry milk, you’ll get an extra star
in your halo!!)

Lift
High the Cross: Our First Anniversary
Our one year anniversary of our Lift High the
Cross capital campaign is coming up in just under a month on April 30.
As we approach that date, please give prayers of thanksgiving for all we
have accomplished so far—like the sanctuary renovation, the new organ,
and the $280,000 debt reduction. Also, please remember to keep your
pledges current, or more specifically, with the first third of the
three-year giving cycle coming to an end, we hope all would have been
able to contribute one-third of their total amount pledged. If you have
not pledged and would like to, or if you can make a contribution, please
get a pledge card and/or giving envelope in the narthex.

Vacation
Bible School (VBS)
June 2-6
In just 2 months, we
will convert our Parish Center into a Habitat for Humanity VBS “work
site” and learning center. You are each personally invited to join us
for the incredible fellowship experience of VBS – regardless of your
age! Mark your calendars for June 2nd-6th from 5 to 7 pm. Dinner will be
served from 7 to 7:30 pm. Friends and neighbors are welcome, too! This
is a good way to introduce them to the St. Aidan’s family.
For the past 3 years, we have hosted over 100 people each night during
our VBS programs, and we hope for another big turnout. It takes the
talents of many to host this program. Ways for you to help with our
Habitat for Humanity VBS include: crew (group) leaders, nursery,
administrative support, drama, music, low-sensory inclusion program,
outdoor games, carpentry, set up, arts and crafts, photography/video,
meal planning (preparation/clean-up), and supply contributions. Please
contact Fr. Keith if you have any questions. Registration forms are
available in the Parish Center or online,

Safeguarding
God's Children Program
Saturday, April
26th, 9:00-12:00, Burtenshaw Hall - For the past four years, clergy and
lay parish staff and volunteers throughout the Diocese of Atlanta have
experienced Safeguarding God's Children, a training program developed by
the Church Pension Group and Praesidium Religious Services, a company,
based in Arlington, Texas that specializes in prevention of sexual abuse
of children, youth, adults and the elderly.
For Parents and Congregations -
a 30 minute video and follow-up discussion
designed to give all adults who are concerned about children and youth a
basic understanding of the dynamics of child sexual abuse, how to
recognize signs that a child may have been abused, and what to do if you
have concerns about a person's behavior towards a child or youth, or if
you suspect that a child or youth has been molested; and For Ministries:
a 22 minute video and follow-up discussion designed for clergy,
employees of churches and church organizations, and volunteers
responsible for planning, implementing or supervising ministries,
activities or programs for children and youth. It shows what steps can
be taken to prevent child sexual abuse in church and other
organizational settings. The Diocese of Atlanta expects churches in the
diocese to use this training program to make their clergy, staff,
volunteers, church leaders and other members aware of the problem of
child sexual abuse and how they can use well defined strategies in their
parish to prevent its occurance.
If you have
programatic contact with the children or youth at St. Aidan's, (JAM,
EYC, acolytes, etc.) or if you are a vestry member who has not yet had
the training, it is a requirement of your ministry that you attend the
training. Please sign up by contacting Donna Jones, Parish Secretary, at
donnajones@staidans.org.

The
Alleluia Fund
Planting new churches in
the Diocese of Atlanta, from Bishop Alexander: “Peace be with you. As
the Father has sent me, so I send you.” With these words, Jesus blesses
his disciples and sends them out, granting them peace for their journey
even in the presence of doubt. All of us who have received the peace of
Christ are also sent out to proclaim that good news. How will you help
this Easter season in bringing that peace to the world? Your gift to the
Alleluia Fund for Mission will help us to start new churches for people
who are still looking for that peace. I invite your gift this Easter
season. For more information, see the brochures in the Narthex or go to
www.episcopalatlanta.org
or call us at 404-601-5349.
