Sunday Loose Plate Offering
Thanks to everyone who
contributed to HomeStretch through last week's Loose Plate
Offering. We collected a total of $1,020.50, which was matched by
a $500 donation from St. Aidan’s, for a total of $1520.50. Our
contribution has been sent to HomeStretch to help with their
programs to help families overcome homelessness and get back on their
feet. For information on HomeStretch, visit their web site
at www.homestretch.org.

Adult Christian Education
Sunday
Adult Forum -
Easter Starts Our Mission
What does it mean to pray
that “God send us into the world,” as we do in our post communion
prayer, or “to go forth in the name of Christ.” The adult forum in
April and May with Fr. Rob will engage us in living those words, not
just saying them. Join us starting April 18.
Sunday Bible Study - "To Live
Is Christ"
"To Live Is Christ" Bible study by Beth Moore journeys the audience
through the events in the life of Paul. We will not meet on April
4th or 11th but will resume meeting on April 18th.
Weekly Bible Study
The Weekly Bible Study is
on Tuesdays at 9:30am. We study the Sunday Lectionary in advance of the
upcoming Sunday. The Wednesday night class resumes on Wed, April 14th
at 7 pm.

Lift
High the Cross
Our three-year term of our
Lift High the Cross Campaign comes to an official close on April 25. We
have made great strides in renovations and principal reduction over
these three years. Thank you to all who contributed. We are counting
on all pledges to be paid by April 25, on which we’ll have a special
celebration and recognition of our successes. We also invite any one
who did not pledge but has not given to make a special, once-a-year type
of gift on April 25. Our outstanding loan is still more than $1.7
million - so every contribution helps. (Technically, Lift High the
Cross contributions will be accepted through the end of 2010 and
beyond. As we said, every contribution counts.)

HomeStretch
Dinner - Tuesday, April 13th
We again have been asked
to provide a 'hearty and healthy' meal for the clients at HomeStretch.
As a requirement of living in the HomeStretch community, the
residents participate in a bi-weekly Life Skills training class.
Most of the clients come directly from work to this class and would not
likely have time to make dinner for their families so one can imagine
how much this meal is appreciated. We need two teams of people to
help out.
Team 1 will meet at
3:00PM in Burtenshaw Hall to cook and package the dinners. Team
2 will meet at the church at 5:30 and will deliver the dinners to
HomeStretch and help serve the clients.
(Arrangements can also be
made to meet us at the HomeStretch office at 89 Grove Way in Roswell.)
Sign up sheets can be found in the narthex or sign up online at
http://www.staidans.org/outreach/events.htm.

it in the box in the Narthex at any time during the month. The NFCC Food
Pantry "Items of the Month" for April are: canned meats
(tuna, chicken, salmon, ham, etc.).

Music
Survey
As part of the
process of searching for and selecting a new Organist/Choir Director,
the Search Committee has decided to survey all parishioners to
understand the musical hopes and needs in the congregation. The
survey questions give each parishioner the chance to express how he or
she feels about the music program at St. Aidan's as it exists today, how
it enhances your worship, and what needs to be done to improve this
important ministry.
The survey takes between 10 and 20 minutes to complete. All
responses are anonymous, and none of the questions are required to be
completed, however the more you can tell us the better.
<<
TAKE THE SURVEY
NOW
>>
This invitation is also
not limited. Please invite every member of your household to complete
the survey. If you attend St. Aidan's we want to hear your
thoughts.
The Search Committee hopes to wrap up the survey process by April
18th, so please prayerfully complete the survey before then.
We thank you in advance for your time, thoughts, and prayers!

St. Aidan’s
Green
Team

This Week's
Green Team Tip
Residential water use
increases 40 to 50% during summer months due to outdo or water use. A
rain barrel collects and stores rainwater from rooftops to use later for
lawn and garden watering. Rain barrels conserve water and help lower
costs (a rain barrel can save approximately 1,300 gallons of water
during peak summer months). Rain barrels reduce water pollution by
reducing stormwater runoff, which can contain pollutants like sediment,
oil, grease, bacteria and nutrients. Rain barrels are inexpensive and
easy to build and install. A rain barrel can be used to save water for
plants during dry periods. Rain barrels can also be arranged to slowly
release the collected rain fall to areas that can soak up the water,
reducing stormwater runoff and increasing groundwater recharge.
Recycling Reminder
Please
stop and think before tossing your trash! Please use the recycling
containers in Burtenshaw Hall appropriately. The tall slim cans are for
clean, empty plastic bottles and aluminum cans. The small cans in the
classrooms are for clean paper. The
Green
Team appreciates your consideration!
How are you helping to
save the planet?
The
Green
Team would like to know what you are doing in your home and community to
help save our planet. Please send photos of your recycling
efforts, compost bins, rain barrels, etc. to Joyce Tripp Miller, 1205
Tuscany Ct, Alpharetta, GA 30004 or
jtmiller120@gmail.com. Please identify people who are in your
photos.
Join the
Green
team!
The St. Aidan's
Green Team
meets the second Sunday of each month after the 11 am service;
all are welcome to participate. If you are
interested in helping St. Aidan’s with its environmental stewardship
(recycling and the like) please contact Father Rob at
fr.wood@earthlink.net.

Hikers, Walkers and
Lovers of Nature
St. Aidan’s Spring Family
Hike is Saturday, May 8th at 8am. The Laurel Ridge Trail is
a relatively flat 3.8 mile circular trail at Buford Dam. It should
be a fun hike for young and old alike. Bring a picnic lunch if you
want to make a day of it. The trail is about 15 miles from the
church (400 Exit 14) so it should not take long to get there and back.
We will meet in St. Aidan’s parking lot at 8am and leave promptly at
8:15am. We should be back around noon. Contact Jim Linthicum
if you would like to meet the group at the trail. To sign-up or
ask questions, contact Jim at
jlinthicum@yahoo.com or 404.983.3558.
