Parish Picnic Sunday, May
18th!
Mark your calendars! Join your fellow parishioners for the fun, food,
festivities and fellowship that await at the annual St Aidan's Spring
Picnic, Sunday May 18th after the 10:30 service. There will be games
for the kids, conversation, laughter, music and entertainment, and lots
of food! Enjoy the company of friends and family, rekindle old
relationships, or meet someone new. Bring your favorite salad,
vegetable, casserole, appetizer, baked goods or dessert to share (and
your appetite!), and the main course and refreshments will be provided
by the church. Volunteers will be needed for the loan of awnings,
setup, children's events, tear down and cleanup, so please look for the
signup sheets in Burtenshaw Hall on Sunday. For questions, call Jim
Skinner (770) 664-4887, or email
aviator610@cs.com. See you there!

Vacation
Bible School (VBS)
June 2-6
In
just 3 weeks,
we will convert our Parish Center into a Habitat for Humanity VBS “work
site” and learning center. Mark your calendars for Monday through
Friday, June 2nd-6th, from 5 to 7 pm. Dinner will be served from 7 to
7:30 pm. Please invite friends and neighbors, too! This is a good way
to introduce them to the St. Aidan’s family.
For
the past 3 years, we have hosted 100 people each night during our VBS
programs, and we hope for another big turnout. We still need helpers
for drama, set up, photography/video, meal planning
(preparation/clean-up), and supply contributions. Please contact Fr.
Keith if you have any questions.
Registration forms are available in the Narthex and the
Parish Center or online,
www.staidans.org. Please sign-up for Vacation Bible School by
May 18th!

Imagine
a safe place, where the children of Abraham, and children of all faith
traditions, can live together in peace.... Imagine a place where our
differences are deeply respected, and where we celebrate what we
share... Imagine a place where the leaders and peacemakers of tomorrow
are challenged and encouraged today with the best education in dialogue,
tolerance and friendship... Imagine KIDS4PEACE! Each year, 14-15 youth
from the Diocese of Atlanta welcome Jewish, Muslim, and Christian teens
from the Holy Land, and this year, our own
Caroline Wood
was asked to participate. More information on how St. Aidan’s will be
involved as a host parish coming soon.

NFCC
needs cereal!
Thanks so much for your
recent, generous donations of dry beans. NFCC’s food pantry is now in
need of dry cereal for the clients it serves. Regular size boxes are the
best and any sort of cereal is good—Cheerios, Shredded Wheat, Raisin
Bran, Special K, Smart Start or your favorite brand. This week when you
are at the grocery, pick up a couple extra boxes for the food pantry and
place them in the basket in the Narthex. We’ll deliver them post haste!
(If you include a box or package of dry milk, you’ll get an extra star
in your halo!!)

The
Alleluia Fund
Planting new churches in
the Diocese of Atlanta, from Bishop Alexander: “Peace be with you. As
the Father has sent me, so I send you.” With these words, Jesus blesses
his disciples and sends them out, granting them peace for their journey
even in the presence of doubt. All of us who have received the peace of
Christ are also sent out to proclaim that good news. How will you help
this Easter season in bringing that peace to the world? Your gift to the
Alleluia Fund for Mission will help us to start new churches for people
who are still looking for that peace. I invite your gift this Easter
season. For more information, see the brochures in the Narthex or go to
www.episcopalatlanta.org
or call us at 404-601-5349.
