Special Thanks!

Many, Many thanks to everyone who helped with Vacation Bible School!  I am so appreciative of everyone's time and support with VBS this year.  For everyone who donated supplies and decorations, to teachers, shepherds, teen volunteers, and dinner crews, work day and decoration helpers, and Lee Thompson for the very cute shirts; you helped make this year's VBS truly "Out of This World!"  Thank you Fr. Rob for your dinner blessings and continued support of children's ministries.  An extra special thank you goes to the VBS Team, Suzanne Maddux and Mike Monaghan, for months of your time and dedication, my deepest gratitude!

Thank You Everyone!

Susan Griffis, Director of Children’s Ministry

Please Wear Your Name Tags This Summer

Please wear your nametags this summer.  Name tags help visitors (and anybody) know your name, including our new assistant, Rebekah Hatch.  Having your name in front of her will greatly help her put names and faces together.  Thank you!

New 2010 Pictorial Directory

WE WANT YOU to be in our new 2010 PICTORIAL DIRECTORY.  Our dedicated professional photographer, Jim Pettit, will be making pictures each Sunday in the Cathedral Room between church services June 13, 20 and 27.  July dates will be announced soon.  Picture taking will end at the end of July in order to have the Directory completed in September.  We want YOUR picture in our directory but we are totally dependent on YOUR cooperation to make this happen.  We can use the pictures that were in the 2008 Pictorial Directory, you can get new pictures taken by Jim, or you can send us a picture to include.  If you want to send in a photograph of you or your family that you already have, please send it to Office@staidans.org,  with "Photo for Directory" in the Subject line.  If you have a picture you want us to scan, please bring it by the office.  This is also a great time to have a family picture made that you can use for your Christmas cards, or have enlarged for your home.  If you prefer to schedule a separate sitting for your family picture, please contact Jim Pettit at jim@jamespettitphotography.com.  Also, please check the directory located in the narthex for correct addresses, telephone numbers or email addresses.  Please write in corrections or if your information is correct, please initial by your name.  Please contact Harmony Kiser at harmony.kiser@comcast.net or 770-205-7899 with questions.

We Need a Few Good Moppers!

The Mopping Ministry saves the church over $5,000 each year in commercial cleaning fees.  We mop Burtehshaw Hall floor twice each month and with 8 teams, each team mops 3 times a year, usually 2 hours on a Saturday morning.  The "Zamboni" scrubbing machine is a big help in cleaning the floor.

Men, women and youth are invited to join the Mighty Moppers by signing up on the bulletin board in Burtenshaw Hall or by contacting 'da Big Mopper', Jerry Hood, at jhood66@comcast.net or 770-720-6171.

St. Aidan’s Green Team

This Week's Green Team Tip

For scrubbing yourself clean, consider using an all-natural brush or washcloth.  Bristled bamboo-back brushes, organic cotton washcloths, and sea-sponge loofahs are all effective and environmentally friendly.  When you step out of your (quick, we hope) shower, dry off with a hemp or organic-cotton towel.  EcoBathroom -  http://www.ecobathroom.com/  is a good online resource for sustainable bath accouterments.

Recycling Reminder

Please stop and think before tossing your trash!  Please use the recycling containers in Burtenshaw Hall appropriately.  The tall slim cans are for clean, empty plastic bottles and aluminum cans.  The small cans in the classrooms are for clean paper.  The Green Team appreciates your consideration!

Join the Green team!

The St. Aidan's Green Team meets the second Sunday of each month after the 11 am service; all are welcome to participate.  If you are interested in helping St. Aidan’s with its environmental stewardship (recycling and the like) please contact Father Rob at fr.wood@earthlink.net.
