Blessing of the
Skinned Knee, with The Rev. Rebekah Bokros Hatch
The hustle and bustle of life, school, work, extra-curricular activities
can easily overshadow one of our primary roles as parents: to raise a
faithful child. With the demands and expectations our society
places on families, this priority gets shifted further and further down
the list, despite our desire to do otherwise. Join us for 4 weeks
as we look at how to frame our family life in a more faithful way.
Using Wendy Mogel’s The Blessing of the Skinned Knee, we’ll gain some
insight into raising faithful, self-reliant, compassionate and ethical
children. We meet in the library.
Other Adult Classes
Be
DOERS of the Word, not just hearers! Learn how by studying with us
The Letter of James in a 6-week Bible Study, either Tuesday mornings in
the library (Sept. 7 to Oct. 12) at 9:30 or Wednesday nights (Sept.
8 to Oct. 13) at 7:30 to pray and study over the letter of James, who
writes of ‘faith and works’, or ‘mercy triumphing over judgment.’
EfM at St. Aidan’s
If you are looking
for an in-depth way to study the Bible, church history and theology, our
parish offers an EfM class that meets Mondays at 7:30 p.m. Start
date TBA. Please contact Blair Hendrickson if you are interested
in learning more about this opportunity to grow in your faith.

Please sign up 2 or three times on one or more of the easels displayed

Cursillo
Weekend, September 16—19
Have you wondered what
Cursillo is really about? Your opportunity is here! Cursillo is a
weekend retreat where participants hear and reflect on their faith
through 15 talks. It's a communal environment, but as a participant,
you only have to focus on your learning - everything else is covered for
you. During the weekend, you'll experience music, reflections and small
group discussions about each talk. What you do with your learning is up
to you -- it's not a cult, but a retreat that supports your growth as a
Christian. You will laugh until your sides hurt and sometimes cry from
the love that you experience. There is nothing else like it. Please
contact Keith Smith for additional info —
keithismith@att.net or (678)
807-9473.

Bridge Fund Update
You should have
received a letter by now regarding our Bridge Fund, our special
collection, above and beyond regular pledges, to cover a projected
$50,000 shortfall in our 2010 operating budget. So far, we have
collected over $26,000 in Bridge Fund donations from 69 of the 300
families in our parish. This outpouring of faithful support
and stewardship, particularly in such a short time, is a tremendous
blessing to our community of Christ. Thank you! Even
after this generosity, however, we still have a sizeable gap to
cover. If you haven't given, please join your fellow parishioners
and make a contribution. Additionally, we need your help in keeping
your giving for 2010 current. Your stewardship is necessary to
maintain St. Aidan's ministries that all of us rely on for our
spiritual nourishment.

The "Zamboni"
scrubbing machine is a big help in cleaning the floor.
