We are pleased to
announce the place and plan for our Memorial Garden. It will be a
beautiful, sacred place where for burial, reflection, and
visitation. Its location is behind the Parish Center on the flat
area as you walk outside through the double-doors on the lower level
(between the children’s classrooms and the tent room/adult class
rooms). We welcome your comments and participation (see form
below). With gifts and commitments to date, we are ready for Phase 1
and can begin looking at Phase 2 (more plantings).

Eligibility
Interment in the garden is permitted
for members, former members, or a member of his or her family
(defined as spouse, parents, children or siblings of the eligible
person), or if applicants approved by the Rector.
Fees
The plan is for the Memorial Garden to
be self-sustaining—that is, not funded by the annual budget or any
capital campaign. Fees are based on the normal requirements of
perpetual care and the plaque with its simple commemorative
inscription. Plaques will be mounted together on a nearby wall. Fees
are $750 per person. Memorial gifts of certain, pre-selected
plantings can also be made. A plant and price sheet will be
available soon.
Interment
Ashes only—to be placed directly into
the ground or in a biodegradable container. Sorry, no coffins,
headstones, or pets. The current plan calls for one type of
interment: directly into the ground in a general area—with a
memorial plaque on the wall, not on the ground. In the future, there
may be 1) a sitting wall behind which there will be plants and a
place for interment (and a plaque could be placed on the face of the
sitting wall; or 2) a small section niches or columbaria, but that
is not in the plan now, and it might require a separate fee (mainly
for the columbaria itself).
