Nursery Policies

Supervision

The nursery will appoint two sets of parents to be in charge of the nursery each Sunday.

Three to four employees of  “A Friend of the Family”, a professional childcare agency, will be on duty every Sunday during both services.

Teens will sign up to serve in the nursery each Sunday.

Restrictions

Snacks will not be served while the children are in the nursery.

Sick children will not be allowed to stay in the nursery.  If your child has a cold or cough, please keep him at home, as many childhood diseases begin with a cold or runny nose.  If your child becomes ill during the service, he or she will be isolated and a nursery volunteer will contact you.

Children staying in the nursery, if in diapers, should bring a labeled diaper and wipes.  If your child needs a drink, please label the bottle or sippy cup.  This will avoid unnecessary sharing of the drinks.  If your child is not using the cup, it will be placed out of reach of other children.

Please do not bring toys to the nursery.  It is impossible to keep track of all the toys and toys will be removed from the nursery for cleaning.

Children will not be removed from the nursery by any other adult than the one that dropped off that child.  The one exception being the playground.  On some days, the playground is a viable option.  One nursery parent and one teen volunteer must accompany the children to the playground.  No less than two (2) responsible adults must be with the children at all times.  If you do not wish your children to go to the playground, please indicate that on the sign in sheet.

Videos will be restricted to Bible stories and those appropriate for children under 3.  This will be determined by the nursery committee.  If there is a video that has been shown in the nursery that you do not approve of, please contact the nursery chairperson.
