Setup & Opening

Setup the meeting place, greet guests, distribute newsletter, conduct flag ceremony.

  • Arrive at least 15 minutes before pack meeting starting time and setup the meeting room
  • Serve as greeters at the door, welcome scouts, families, and guests, distribute newsletters
  • Execute the opening flag ceremony:
    • Present the colors
    • Pledge of Allegiance
    • Cub Scout Promise
    • Law of the Pack

    • Song / Skit

    Perform an entertaining skit or song for the pack - less than 3 minutes.

    • Plan, prepare, rehearse the song or skit well in advance
    • Emphasize
      • Scout participation
      • Fun for performs and audience
      • scouting values
      • Originality - the selected activity should be something not seen in a while
    • Include props and narration as needed

    Closing & Cleanup

    Conduct closing ceremony, clean up meeting place.

    • Exeute the closing flag ceremony
      • Recite or sing Taps or similar short and respectful ceremony
      • Retire the flags
      • Case the flags and return to proper storage
    • Supervise room clean up and reposition chairs and tables
