How To: Pinewood Derby
Pinewood Derby is held in the great hall at St Aidan's Church. You must work ahead of time to ensure that the date you have in mind is open! Generally, we do this activity on the last weekend of January or the first weekend in February.
We separate registration from the actual race. In 2005, the schedule was laid out like this:
Friday Evening
6:00 PM Registration Opens
6:30 PM Open track available for testing
8:00 PM Registration Closes
Saturday Morning
9:00 AM Opening Ceremony (flags)
9:15 AM Let the races begin!
11:15 AM Racing finishes (open track available)
12:00 PM Awards presentation
12:30 PM Closing ceremony
12:45 PM Cleanup
The award certificates are in PowerPoint, and are zipped up here. You'll want to get a copy of these and have these printed and ready to be filled out at the race.
